While huge corporations have invested in the latest clean energy technology called the Bloom Box or the Bloom Energy Saver, it will be at least ten years before it will be cost effective for the average home in America.

Sungate Energy Solutions has read that the smallest size that the Bloom Box currently has available is a 100 kilowatt unit. The cost of this unit is between $700.000 and $800.000 and is only practical for extremely large businesses.

Regarding energy costs from current solar systems in comparison to the Bloom Box, the energy costs are equal. Both are about ten cents per kilowatt hour.

Regarding maintenance, solar panels require no maintenance other than an occasional dusting. The Bloom Box, however, has many parts and mechanical replacement needs.

Another concern is the carbon footprint of solar energy versus the Bloom Box which uses natural gas. There are carbon emissions from the Bloom Box although the CO2 is reduced by about half as much as from today’s power plants. Solar panels’ carbon emissions can be eliminated after a short period of time.
